I remember purchasing a firework that was a fountain and had reports. It was wrongly labeled California Safe & Sane.

Notice they didn't actually show the products for more that one second, they probably were just sparklers and fountains. They just didn't want to go through that procedure that California has in regard to that Safe and Sane label process.

Yeah, CA won't let you buy the good sparklers with wires.

With all the real problems in California, this is what they spend money on and worry about:rolleyes:!

Years back there was a tariff on metal wire sparklers coming from China. The wooden ones were exempt. I believe I talked about it in one of my videos when I toured the last remaining sparkler factory in United States that was owned by Phantom Fireworks . Not sure if that tariff is still in effect.

When I was a Teen (Mid-90s) I remember buying small fountains (Cuckoo) and smoke devices from our dollar store. I wonder if they were legal to sell those?

other than selling the wrong time of yr - the fake vs real S&S seal - would that be a Chinese mfg mistake? Sorry - but they make quite a few of them....just saying....

Dave, they took away the tariff after they closed down the sparkler plant. The tariff was 93.5% if I remember correctly.

Thanks for that update. I am glad I captured it on video in 2013 for historic reasons going forward. You have to give Phantom credit for trying to save it. I suspect that equipment is still there but just non operational
