I picked up a bunch of Raccoon 1.4g slices but am having trouble getting any specs on horizontal spread. Most of what I've got is 13 shot stuff. Has anyone had a chance to shoot them yet and have feedback on horizontal spread? I want to make sure I give them enough room.

I use a trajectory calculator by using the bore size. Take the angle and the bore size formula and use it with the calculator.
There are a lot of free calculators online or you can always brush up on your Trigonometry and do it the long way … LOL

sohcahtoa, am I right? :) A little Trig from time to time will put hair on your chest.
What straight height are you using for a given diameter comet? I heard rumors there might have been some inadvertent overpack on various slices this year.
It does like ~42 degrees on the outside tubes.

Really depends on the effect.
At 42’ I would do no less than 250’ to be safe but that said I had a lady have a crossette land on her shirt and melt it at/around 300’ I don’t recall the angle of the slice and would have to look it up.

Thanks. Are you saying 500-600 feet end to end, or 250' total spread (125' each direction)?

250’ from your outside station
If you have 1 station then 500’ wide.
I have 5 slice stations 125’ wide plus the 250’ on each side = 625’ wide
I know some guys that shot a lot tighter than that but after that ladies shirt melted, I have moved it out.
If you look on YouTube from other guys here on PT you will see cheap effect is different.
I didn’t use those same fans last year that went out 300’ because I had safety concerns but now that I’m at a new SHOOT SITE they’re back on the menu
