Here is the new Displayfireworks1 Willow Beach. A partial shipment arrived . Built to meet the new regulations. Back to snow and wind here in Pennsylvania. I'll be getting this on video soon as time and weather permit.

What new regulations? Traditional NOAB sized items are still being built and shipped. Or was it just changed to save on shipping? That is the more likely scenario since you could still ship the big version today.

So the shorter cake is the new?

The smaller cake is the new one based on videos of the original. I'm curious to know what had to change and why. Also curious to see if performance has changed any.

This is going to go for all products coming out of China. The regulations changed the Consumer cake mortar size to a smaller diameter. The product is still going to be 500 Gram. If you still see these larger nine on a board or physically large big mortar cakes , they are most likely going to be old stock made prior to the new regulations. Since all of the Displayfireworks1 Willow Beach cakes were sold out, this new batch is produced according to the new regulations. This new Willow Beach is currently available in limited supply before July 4th. More are coming but I chose to get a partial shipment now. We believe, while the appearance is physically smaller, the 500 Gram performance is still there. The E-Fire port is include on this new version also. Of course I need to discuss and demonstrate all of this to my YouTube subscribers. As soon as time weather and permissions allow. I will get a video out.
.
On a side note there is currently a limited supply of DF1 Storm Surge with E-Fire port available at my exclusive distributor Wholesale Fireworks in Hubbard Ohio.

Dave, you are 110% wrong. The 3" cakes are still being produced today. You have some bad sources for information.

The DF1 assortment are the three cakes I shot in my New Years Eve 2021/2022 video. All have the easy connect E-Fire ports.

Are the new version a 4/1 or is it still a 2/1?

Dave, you are 110% wrong. The 3" cakes are still being produced today. You have some bad sources for information.

The regulations DID change at one point for the 9 shot cakes. Then in true fashion the regs were changed again so the fake 3 inch shells and tubes could be made again. So YES they are being produced again. However they are the same 1.75" shells wrapped in a 3" shell to make them look bigger. The smaller version is exactly the same as before other than its size and amount of wasted space and paper. The same 1.75" shells that are in the current version are the same shells that were in the original version. They are just not a shell in a shell anymore. As someone stated before, the smaller version does save money for everyone because we can get more on a container, they take up less room in the warehouse and you can fit more on the shelf in retail sores and tents. The amount of paper being used is less so you are now paying for pyro....not paper.

It's a shame they changed the regulations. Smaller packaging just makes so much more sense as long as it doesn't effect performance. I was hoping that the rising costs of raw materials and shipping could be mitigated somewhat by reducing some of this waste.

You still get a board on top with the new Willow Beach and yellow straps. LOL But you may not get the green paper inside . LOL Thanks Ray.

And this is proof that NOABS advertised as 3? were nothing more than an advertising gimmick. Plenty of 9-12 shot cakes preformed as well and even better than many NOABS. With shipping charging by cfm, changes have to be made. I?m all for this.

It's been known for years how fake noabs are. I'd like to see something similar done with canister shells that are pointlessly long.

Another one is roman candle barrages. I picked up a case of them this year and upon inspection there were 4 or 5 roman candles inside a 3" tube. They could easily make the packaging 50% smaller.

All of these Consumer Fireworks products are built according to various regulations and inspection processes. Problem is there are multiple regs and inspection processes at any given time of production. Like Ray talked about earlier what is proposed and what happens can change. Who wants to build a Consumer product and have it reclassified as 1.3 or it now requires special packaging and shipping. Most of this stuff has too much cardboard anyway. Now that I am trying to introduce a fireworks product in an area outside of United States I am finding a whole new set of build rules.
The advanced fireworks enthusiast is advancing faster than the industry and trade organization are. The availability and affordability of advanced fireworks equipment is turning Joe's into pro's . The problems that hold it back are the average once a year user of Consumer Fireworks and all the problems and injuries they create plus, the Display industry trying to hold onto their share of the market. I can rant for an hour , so I'll stop here. LOL

Here is video of the new Willow Beach I am getting out through my social media. In this 2022 version of Willow Beach I feel it captured all of what fireworks enthusiast liked with the prior version i.e , 500 Gram. 9 shots, fuse and/or E-Fire port, willows hanging to the ground, same artwork , etc. Willow Beach along with the entire line of displayfireworks1 product line is exclusively distributed at Wholesale Fireworks in Hubbard Ohio. If you are an advanced user of fireworks, the Displayfireworks1 fireworks line has the ports for easy plug and play connection to Cobra Fireworks Firing Systems, the Ignite Fireworks Firing System and/or any wireless fireworks system that uses , traditional electric match and/or the MJG Firewire Initiators. Please follow my distributor website for current availability. Currently I am still waiting for Spooky Staircase and Backyard Battlefield. Thanks to all that purchase the Displayfireworks1 Consumer Fireworks.

There's not the same cake anymore. I think the old one more unique even if hit or miss.

It is always risky to change something, particularly in physical size appearance. Once some of these get out there , we will see what the feedback will be.

The size or physical appearance didn't just change, the two aren't the same at all. They have two different effects. The new one is very nice, but the old one was more unique. In my opinion, It was something you really don't see in consumer fireworks. I have no doubt the feedback will be positive one people get to shoot these. They'll like them just like all the other 9 shot Nishiki noabs on the market.

ok...ok everyone settle down...we saw ONE cake. Its the same thing. The shells are made in the same factory by the same people who made it last year. However you are correct in that the willows do not hit the ground anymore. So this cake i actually safer. So in that aspect it is different

jamisonlm3

How can you say it's the same thing? The new one is basically Winda's Mother of all Bombs, but with gold strobe. Still, you are right, we have only see a single one shot. Maybe the factory shipped something else with the Willow Beach label? I've seen shells that had two labels before. One under the other and not even for the same brand or effect either. I can only imagine the number of shells where the old labels are ripped off instead. Why couldn't something similar happen to cakes?

I just got word this recent shipment of the new Willow Beach is sold out for now. More should be arriving between now and July 4th.
