I commented on Joe's Facebook I thought I saw an upside Heart Pattern shells break upside down just past the 24 second mark on the left. He said none were used. Nice finale, glad to see some boom at the end.

That was a chain of multi colored peonys & a cake going off at the same time. Most likely the overlap of the stars gave that impression.
This show was shot in a populated "downtown" area in a vacant field adjacent to a stadium [where the audience was] and parallel to a highway that could not be shut down so we were limited on the shell size. Nothing larger than 3" shells. Our pattern shells are all larger caliber than 3". The Fire Marshall was on site to oversee that the restrictions were followed.
There were a LOT of shells & cakes in that finale.

That particular show was a seven hour setup with a crew of four experienced pyros. Tear down & load out [after cool down period] was a few minutes under an hour! Well oiled pyro machine! Mike Bixler has the entire show on his Face Book page. I only streamed the finale.

Dave, I remember quite a few years ago you posted the "Day in the life of a Pyro" video. You should re-post it again. It was a great video. Most people have no idea the amount of time, work, and sweat that goes into setting up a show.
