Remember a couple of years ago when Goliath shells turned out to have skinny little cans wrapped up in a fake ball? Has anybody looked at them recently, to see if they're still running that scam?

I wouldn't expect it. The fear is most if not all ball shells on the market are eventually going to go this way.

i Heard something like 75% of all Ball shells will be made with inserts. i Just opened up a case that was supposedly real ball shells to see its not. If you can find them, snatch them up, before they get really hard to find.

The performance of a shell is what's important to me. Size or configuration is irrelevant.

Well that kit certainly is not a premium shell kit any longer. They’re plenty of real ball shell kits still made and imported today. You will have to pay more, they are usually around $30 for a 12 pack box in todays current retail.

The insert Shells Dont have the capability to be in the same league as a ball shell. Size matters. the insert does not have the room to use even close to the same amount of Comp as will fit in the ball shell, let alone a decent Can.

I tested a few goliaths last night. The can was the nicest of the bunch, but it would never be confused with a 60g can. The single ball broke surprisingly low, but looked decent enough. The double broke higher than the single, but still too low, and it's breaks are I guess what you'd expect from a double - good looking but not big. Based on what I saw last night, I would not recommend Goliath primarily for the low breaks. But they don't look too bad.

in order:
Whistling buster (this appears to be a 1 3/4 ball but upon closer examination, it's really 1.5, but this is shot out of DR11)
Super Magnum with tail ball x 2 (I've seen these in mini cans this year too, but this is a ball)
Pro Shell 60g can
Goliath mini can
Goliath ball
Goliath double
Front Lines x2
Fear no evil (sorry, the camera work on this one sucks because this one didn't go up straight)
