I have a question: Can a paper fuse cracker be lit by an electric initiator..? Or does it need to be visco..?
I've got some German crackers with twisted paper fuse, that I wanna light for NYE; but the fuse looks a bit sketchy to light it by hand. Videos show the same cracker lighting very quickly.

Why not just add a piece of visco to the paper fuse and that should give you plenty of time.

Or, untwist the fuse, snip one side where it enters the cracker, and you'll have double the length.

I already fired some candles with paper fuse using MJG's.I just stuffed the fuse in the sheath and loosely taped the MJG right to the candle to hold it in place. They fired just fine.

as much as I hate talons... this is a good way to get rid of them

All of the above. I would just add a piece of Visco--unless you wanted some distance from them..then, the talon or ematch.

I always remember trying to relight failed crackers that had 1/4" or less of paper fuse... I guess i never thought much of the dangers when I was 12... Its probably too late now but did you light that boy up on new years?

You could also dip the paper fuse in some lacquer and dust a little BP on to be sure.
should be much easier to light Chinese paper fuse as the whole fuse is combustible, whereas visco relies on a single core of BP. Touchpaper-covered fuse is even easier.
