to be honest with you, I've shot MANY, MANY, MANY 5's, 6's and 8's over the years and I really don't se emuch difference between 5 inch and 6 inch shells. In fact I see alot of 5 inch that come out of the gun and break harder then most 6's.

Hey I get a hell of a deal from the mexican shell runners. The exciting danger of making the deal in some seedy rundown border town. Seriously 6" Yung Feng shells brake like 8" shells, when distances are an issue it's a good way to go.

People are getting squirrelly on here I hope it's just cabin fever. Disclaimer; this is just a generalized statement, not about any specific comment on this thread. But yes I have shot many,many shells.

I was just simply stating that a majority of the 5 inch shells that I shoot ( Icon) break alot harder and come out of the gun alot harder then 6's. The chinese are also doing such a great job at perfecting shapes in shells, and they are making them in 5 inch. So why spend the extra money on 6's if 5's do just the same?

And whether they are Icon or not, I personally dont see that much of a difference between 5's and 6's, handfiring or shooting electrical.

Anybody else want to chime in here?

I just feel that its nothing to get that excited about and spend all kinds of money on, going from 5's to 6's. If you were shooting 8's then thats a different story. but comparing to the cost of the shells and having to purchase new racks. Not worth it to me.

Think of it in terms of the Spinal Tap movie, their amp went to 11 because 11 is better than 10. Increased proformance is less important than size. 6" will always be better than 5". The horse is dead quit beating it we're all just having fun.
