Show starters with the least amount of smoke

Hey guys, so normally i start my show with few color pearl cakes and saturn batteries just to grab everyone's attention. I was thinking about switching it up with either strobes and/or a few fountains but i have seen both throw off a lot of smoke, especially the strobes and I'm afraid it might be enough to mask some of the show. Do certain brands of strobes throw off more or less smoke than others? I know the wind and humidity has an affect but I'm not sure to what extent. Thanks in advance.

By the way I'm in NY and normally pick up in PA, going to NH for the fourth. If anyone knows of a place that carries Dave's cakes (especially Recursion, assuming it's too early for Battlefield) in either state please let me know. Thanks again

I believe the store "North of the Border" is close to NY. They have some of my cakes posted on their Facebook. I doubt they will have Backyard Battlefield.
