Bad weather, how to handle it?

I know most of you most likely have a system for handling the summer thunderstorm. I've used tarps and plastic but must of done it wrong so the last couple years I have had some items lost from rain, last year was about 1/3 of the show. I know Dave has talked about it on his videos several times. So if the more experienced pyros and profesional guys could provided some of how you do it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Im not the most professional or experienced but set up my show last year in the pouring rain all day til about an hour b4 shoot and only probbi ran in2 was on a bundle or 2 of my 200g cakes the fused used to wire them got wet when shell shot thru and water drained on it. Thin slightly tinted garbage bags with a tiny little zip tie around the wire from mjg. Everything was glued down on boards and covered over with tarps as you can see. I didn't lose anything as a result.

I love bagging the cakes and then staking and taping them down, but it takes FOREVER to set up your show that way. Unless you have a gang of experienced helpers, or multiple days to set up, I'd go with the board method. Find a Harbor Freight and buy a bunch of blue tarps and cover your boards once you set them in place. You shouldn't have any problems unless a monsoon blows through.

Thanks for all the great info. I think I will use the wrap for boards and racks use bags for some single cakes cover it all with tarps and have it all done before 4pm, about the time thunderstorms start becoming a problem. Also the day before I plan to set up stands to elevate some fountains, mark out all the positions, and set up all the safety equipment. And I told my wife I?m not cooking this year lol, catering BBQ instead
