If those cakes are anywhere near as loud as the video shows, my happy ass is going to jail the evening of July 4th next year!!

Curious as to how long the match wire is. Has anyone measured? Looking forward to video as well. Bore looks good sized as well.

Is it just me, or does anyone else suspect a little "metal" in the burst charges?

Anxiously await Dave's video. Keep in mind that the above video appears to originate from China and the "talk" of them juicing up their products for videos is ever present.

Here is my video on the Tannerite M-25 Golden Willow. At first I thought the electric match was already connected into the product. Now I see it is stuffed into one of the mortars and you connect it into the port on the quick match. This is the better choice and much safer for transportation etc. It however assumes the novice user know how it all works.

I'm surprised that it was pretty close to the China "salesman" video. It also appears to be a bit faster paced. I'm now glad I got a case coming.....Thanks Dave for your video as always.

Interesting.. I just noticed that the cakes shot twice as fast as their website indicates. Their site says the cakes run 45 seconds, but your test showed they only ran for ~ 21 seconds. That's a huge difference!
If you shoot more from another case can you post the video or maybe just time the thing so we get a good time comparison?

Your 21 seconds per cake is pretty close to what I just got shooting one. Nice cracks and some pretty gold branches in them there willows.

I shot a pair tonight and definitely closer to 20 seconds. More importantly to me is that the firing rate for the two cakes was identical with both finishing at the same time. They weren?t as loud as I was hoping but really nice cakes nonetheless with nice gold spreads. Definitely a crowd pleaser.

Thanks for the feedback guys. It's important to get the burn times right when you're trying to put a show together and avoid black sky. I wish these vendors did a better job with the times. I'm not going to out the vendor, but I just sent the people I buy from a list of 16 cakes in my order where the times were WAY off according to their own videos! That's crazy.
Anyway.... My buddy shot 2 cases of willows last night and he pretty much confirmed what you guys just said. Nice effects, but not as loud as he had hoped. I saw the video and it was a nice show, but not very loud. Oh well...

Tannerite has great product, however if this is articles of pyrotechniques is it subject to PAs ridiculous fireworks double tax.

Glad you asked this as i nver thought too much about this before.
Short answer in my opinion would be NO! If you look at the "definition of consumer fireworks" it does not fit into this definition. Def says suitable for use by the public - when this clearly states otherwise.
Anyone else has opinions 1 way or another??? Here is a snippet of law pertaining to the definitions.
"Consumer fireworks."
(1) Any combustible or explosive composition or any substance or combination of substances which is intended to produce visible or audible effects by combustion, is suitable for use by the public, complies with the construction, performance, composition and labeling requirements promulgated by the Consumer Products Safety Commission in 16 CFR (relating to commercial practices) or any successor regulation and complies with the
2
provisions for "consumer fireworks" as defined in APA 87-1 or any successor standard, the sale, possession and use of which shall be permitted throughout this Commonwealth.
(2) The term does not include devices as "ground and hand-held sparkling devices," "novelties" or "toy caps" in APA 87-1 or any successor standard, the sale, possession and use of which shall be permitted at all times throughout this Commonwealth.

im no lawyer.. but from the way i read it.. i would have to agree with you.. and if that is the case,, then this should also apply to pro-line products... it is definitely a bit tricky to understand, as all written laws are... but that 18% tax really does suck!!!

What I shot in that video is not fireworks. Its Articles of Pyrotechnics. The PA fireworks tax is for Consumer Fireworks. Strange isn't it, LOL
.
When Tannerite had all of this in development, I recommended he end all of the color effect products last row in air-burst (don't say salute). He didn't listen to me. To simplify it once he had approval for say 6 effects , that then gave him permission to mix the effects into a new separate product without the burden of getting new approvals. It can cost thousands to get these type of items tested and classified as Articles of Pyrotechnics. He spent big money getting these approved. On one product he paid twice becuase one failed the first time. Even if it fails you still pay the same.
