Kooooou

I finally have vids up. My shows are not choreagraphed or musical at all, just alot of bang and sky splatter and on a normal July 4, the effects complement each other (this year is an exception due to the premature ignition of the finale). Sorry for the shaky scenes and up close/ground zero vid. I couldn't task anyone with mounting and testing the camcorder, framing the scene, and managing the recording so the trusty Sony AX700 rode shotgun with me. External mic didn't get mounted either because it was lost in the dark (found it later). During shoots I move around a bit to look for fires and tipped cakes. Crowd looks closer than they really are to the works, but no one even came close to getting hit by debris from a max-load shell that blew on the ground.
The shoot itself went so-so. We had to fight light drizzles throughout the day during fusing and wiring, and there were heavy wind gusts at times including a thunderstorm just south of us. 12 cakes didn't fire due to a failed ematch and 3 Robocops only fired half their shots. I didn't get to remove paper tops from any cake due to lack of time. The biggest issue was me accidentally set off the finale queue before the e-fired show even started. That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the show, which was shot out of sequence in an attempt to save queues for a "new" finale...which didn't go as planned either. It was a good time nonetheless and lessons were learned. Next year will be better!
