Recieved my Type 54 today!

Opened up the mail box when I got home from work today and there it was! So excited! Like Dave has said.....who says you can't get a Type 54 in the state of Illinois lol. They tried a lot of things on me like telling me that I needed my Landlords permission and permission from the county that I live in to open a business (which I am not) & even had a person from the States Fire Marshall's office try to contact me via a phone call. My advice to anybody reading this is that if they start making them kind of demands then tell them that you need it all in writing. And do not talk to them on the phone. The ATF Inspector who came out to interview me was very nice & also very helpful. The interview lasted about 2 hours. So all I have to say to those of you out there who are on the fence is to JUST DO IT!! I sure am glad that I did!!

Congrats on the 54 permit!.I had the talk with the State Fire Marshall"s office a couple weeks after my interview with the ATF inspector.They want to know what your intentions with the permit are and the other Illinois permits and insurance you'll need if your shooting in Illinios for profit and things like that.Good Luck!

Thank you for the congrats guys! Took me a while to get back on here due to the fact that I got really sick. Feeling better now & looking forward to our 1st club shoot in 2 weeks! And I would also like to give a big shout out to Dave for all of the help that he gave me!! I learned a lot about the whole process of getting a 54 from him! Forever Grateful!!

Just remember, they can come inspect you anytime they want. Don't keep anything dumb lying around your house.
