Question: How many mg powder in 60's, 70's?

When I was a kid firecrackers were noticeably louder. I know today they're
limited to 50 mg of flash, but how much was packed into Black Cats and
Thunder Bombs in the 60's and 70's?

Some older crackers were 2 grains, so like 130mg of flash... The new ones are limited to 50mg.

I believe that 50 mg rule started somewhere in the mid 70's around 1976.

Also bear in mind that the Chinese are not going to risk having their product seized for being over the 50mg mark so they consistently put less that 50mg in each cracker. With how pathetic new crackers sound I'd be willing to bet that it's somewhere in the 30mg range.
