Howdy fellas

What are you guys running for audio equipment for your pyromusicals?

My audio last year was no where near loud enough, and I need to upgrade. Obviously I don't want to spend a fortune, and since there is no power at my shoot site I will need something that will run off of a nice and quiet 2000 watt generator.

Yeah that’s something along the lines of what I was looking at. I didn’t see any reviews, but looks like they have sold several.

I saw the Rockville 300w rms 12” PA cabinets on amazon, and they get pretty good reviews. Anybody using those?

Speaker is 200 watts---if you are lucky--not 2000! And that is split into the second speaker--so you have 100 watts total from each. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!
Go back and search the previous threads about this subject. There is a LOT of information about makes, models, user experiences, etc! No need to start a new thread on what already has been discussed in great detail.

Mackie thump series 12 or 15’s are good entry level pro equipment. Can find for $499 new. Advertised as 1000w but actual is around 500w. With pro equip it’s easy to match and replace woofer-speaker if you blow it or want to upgrade which I did with eminence 450’s in the thump cabs

Here is my solution, and it has worked great for the past 3 years......

....find a friend that is into music and ask to borrow their equipment. Although we have a low end mixer and speakers, theirs are much better 15" Yamahas and Behringer Board.

I only do sound once or twice a year, go in and talk to some guitar shops - they know their stuff. I've also talked to some mobile DJs. Explain that you are setting up outside and see what they recommend.

I did come close to buying some Behringer 15" speakers from Sweatwater, but again - "borrowed from a friend." (The friend is also our children's piano teacher)
