Going to ask Santa for a torch this year. I don?t do much by hand anymore, but I?ve been having some fun with rockets and crackers recently. Despite the fun, I realized there is a better way then a bic lighter. Anyone have a favorite they would like to share/recommend? I?ve seen a few like Eagle brand that come in a 4pack, but not sure how reliable they are.

Buy a bernzomatic torch in the plumbing section of your local home improvement store.

The ts8000? It's the one with the piazo button that sparks it's self. Usually like $20+ clean the tip/nozzle after a show of before storing. Fuse spit causes it to clog fast.

I agree go for the TS 8000 model. You can adjust the flame intensity and you get that extra tip that helps protect against fuse spit back. Here is my video from 2012.

Thank you all for the recommendations. With those prices, I might skip Santa and get one early.

I have a Bernzomatic TS4000 and it's a great torch. Especially of you're hand lighting a lot of stuff but 90% of the time I use this one:

Small enough to fit in a roomy pocket. Runs off butane and lasts forever on a charge. Very handy for other stuff like melting rope ends or lighting birthday candles. It has an annoying safety switch but it's easy to disable or remove.

I’ve been seeing that one. I’m thinking that smaller one would be better for me as I won’t be using it a bunch. The ts8000 might find it’s way into my shop though. So I’m weighing the benefits lol.
