Business members of the NHFA from Atomic, Hooksett and Stateline Fireworks attended todays meeting with the criminal justice committee. Dialog went well with very little opposition. Its off next to executive session with the CJC to be voted on with any proposed amendments..Then to the house for a vote ...(for the first 1/2 of the process)

Today was the first step of many hopefully more to come...

CJ Committee voted 12-8 in favor of the bill with an amendment...sending it to a house vote end of February. Amendment requires customer must purchase a "Safety Rocket Launcher" or prove they purchased one in the past upon each sale that contains rockets...

This amendment was advocated by the (NHFA) New Hampshire Fireworks Association, which consists of several fireworks retailers in New Hampshire .
(No relation to the NHPA)

Here is a video of the rocket launcher. The launcher is a good idea for the average user.

That safety rockets launcher is a PATENTED product from a company in Minnesota - a nonadvertiser. BUT they try to have the fireworks companies to buy from them. Actually a real nice product.

The golden ticket for this creator is that it is a mandatory requirement written into the New Hampshire bill. To me it looks like piece of PVC pipe with a slot cut into it. Maybe there is more to it. To use a guide device for rockets is a great idea. I would be curious to see is the bottom plugged or cut on an angle to make it easier to get into the ground. I can't find any good pictures of the device. I have a post from a few years back on a patented device a man created to accommodate and stabilize various types of backyard Consumer Fireworks. I'll have to see if I can find that thread. Sorry for changing the course of this thread. OK back to New Hampshire everyone. LOL

Its not plugged at pointed end (hollow). You shoot rockets out - not shells - LOL

The tube has a cut angle on the bottom...The plastic is fireproof and is pretty durable. We hammered one of them into 6" of frozen ground with no problems...

It's crazy that even something like fireworks has to come down to an essentially party line vote.

Oh well. Such is the world we live in I guess.

That was my intention, just to let everyone be aware of how things work. Every vote in the past went mostly by party line in NH

Those speaking against the bill; the state deputy fire marshal, state fire marshal investigator, and the lobbyist for atlas Fireworks. I bought some Smiling from Ear to Ear rockets at Atomic yesterday. Great product, and it’s very cool to be shooting rockets!
Thanks to the people who put in the work to make this happen.
