I realize I only have 1 post and have only been a member for a year; however, I have read (and learned) from this group much longer than that. My family has held a gathering (that continues to grow) for the last 14+ years. While we started with the random cakes and/or assortments, we quickly discovered Mortars, Different Effects, Electrical Firing, and of course the endless information on the Forum.
I have ordered wholesale for the last 5 years and this year I ordered for my first time from Ed at Nite Lites (I.E. Little China). I do a lot of research and I will say Ed has one of the best overall varieties. He is Super to do business with and truly knows his product.
I will be the first to tell you that Video Footage is a definite weakness after all the work I put in. All of you with Drones and crazy editing skills truly have my respect. However, I wanted to share what footage I do have to show that an average guy can order Wholesale (Tennessee to Texas) and put on a backyard show with much better quality product and a major savings.
Not that everyone cares to watch all these videos, but I have several versions from smart phones and one with a GoPro sitting on the roof. The footage will seem choppy due to reduction (length of video) to meet YouTube standards.
As mentioned in other threads, I also battled extreme temperatures including a 3 hour rain storm the day of the show. Thank goodness for tarps. I didn't lose a single cake!
This year I used (7) stations with (6) being Cakes and (1) Being Mortar Racks. My product list (incorrect on video post) is as follows:
(144) Mortars-Various Brands
(80) 500 Gram Cakes
(18) 200/350 Gram Cakes
(72) Roman Candles in Candle Racks
(4) RFRemotech MS12Q & (1) MS32Q Firing Sytems
(100) MJG Initiators - Brass Awl with direct fire method
Product Overview & Setup Video (Also partial video of show):
