Along with some other ordinary fireworks this was found while cleaning out a house last summer. I do not have any idea what it is or what it will do. I thought perhaps someone here might know and be able to tell me. Thanks so much in advance. I will try to post photos, but if I am not able, it is a black canister shape about 2 1/2 inches tall with silver foil top and bottom with a fuse at the top. The label reads: BLACK OPS SIGNALING DEVICE

That fuse makes it look homemade. I don't see any commercial marking. One way to find out is to light that fuse. Please let us know

I vote e-match, and video, easy way to find out.

I second that... Maybe it's just smoke, maybe it's noise... Safe way to find out... Ematch it or light and run

Thanks all, I will get to lighting the thing hopefully soon and report back with photos and/or a vid. Here is a pic of the fuse and top, and the bag package it came in. I googled the company on the bag and could not find anything.

Definitely looks "home made" or by a small production company. No EX number or other "legitimate" ID info on it. It says it produces 120db of noise so IT IS A REPORT! Top looks like aluminum paint over hot glue. Be careful with it when you light it.

That is definitely a homemade salute. it uses the old Class C on the label. It may not be that old. If I remember correctly that Red White and Blue fuse was not around prior to the year 2000. I see that last picture is on the packaging and not the product. Was it an unopened package of 10? Someone was probably selling these at a gun show years back. Great post and pictures. Anyone else know anything about them?

Yes, from a full bag of 10 and I think I've got a few bags IIRC

Google search came up empty for 'Military Sounds and Lights, Inc'

Looks like someone tried to make and sell improvised flash bangs
