So I was out picking up some discounted fireworks today on the 5th. and what did I find but 6 mint 60/8 bricks of dot labeled Whistling Jacks! I remember them from when I was a young kid. Are they a collectable item? I didn't know where to post this question as they are part firecracker and part whistler. I will try to post a picture when I figure out how to.

Buy them all. You could easily double your money and pay for the ones you keep. They are neat items like whistling chasers with report.

They were 4.00 per brick. I bought them all. The attendant said they found them in the warehouse. They also had old Boomer 7/8 x 1/6 lady fingers bricks of 40/40's for the same price. I bought them all too. They have the UN 0336 lable with the skip between un and the number. A couple of years ago I got a brick of old Mighty Mite 1 x 1/4 crackers there to but my son got his hands on them and blew them all up. They had crappy fuses so they were somewhat dangerous.

Countryboy7978 would you use the whistling jacks or are they too rare to burn up?

Too rare..nah. Light them. They should come 60/8's so if you bought 6 bricks you could light them all you want for many years to come. The reports are actually whistle mix which is unusual but they are a ball to play with. I'm going to assume the Boomers were the white background bricks rather than the dark blue but either way Boomers are great. Ladyfingers are going to disappear soon as they are no longer widely imported. Every Mighty Mite I've ever had has performed well. Did the ones you had get wet? Red lantern fuses are usually very reliable.

The boomers are the white background. The mighty mite's fuses were just fast. If you gave them a little twist they were better. You just had to be careful. Man mighty mites are LOUD little crackers! They make your ears ring. I would love to trade some whistle jacks for some mighty mites. They were one of my favorites back in the day!
