I received a few old display fireworks company catalogs from one of my YouTube video subscribers. As I find time I will try to scan and post some of them. This one is from 1983 Star Fireworks Manufacturing Company Danville Illinois .Keep the year 1983 in mind when you review the prices.

Yes you are correct, i am glad you mentioned it. I would enjoy hearing what year that all changed. I know I came across old Zambelli shells from the late 80's that still used the old system. For those new at this, divide all the list mortar sizes by 3. Where it says nine inch in the catalog it is really a three inch. This brings up an interesting piece of history and research. At this same time were plumbing and sewage pipes also using this forum of measurement?
Note on page #2 of the catalog they are proud to announce they imported some shells from France.

I remember hearing about the old way shells were measured... At first glance i was wondering why they didn't have any shells smaller han 9"... Then i thought I've never seen a 9" shell for sale... 8" and 10s but who makes 9s...lol this is really cool but a bit before my time...
