Here is my video of the Concussion Mortars and golf ball. This would be a great addition to the gasoline fire ball mortars.

Watched these videos last night. As cool as the golf ball cannon is, I'd hate to have it land somewhere that would cause teouble. Bad enough I do that on the golf course. I really like the plain thunder mug though. I have seen similar available on internet with a base, but not at this price point. Thanks for vids.

Thanks for the comment. I just looked at the Ebay ad for the Concussion Mortar AKA Thunder Mug. It list 6 sold in last 24 hours. Actually my video was released less than 24 hours ago.

This part of the message is for pyrotechnic companies that are not part of pyrotalk.com. Are you out there reading this? Here is the link.

Still time to be part of pyrotalk.com before July 4th. I keep telling you there is a new developing pyro enthusiast market out there. They are looking for fireworks and pyrotechnic related accessories. There not in Amsterdam and they are not at the once a year PGI convention. There are watching my YouTube videos same as they have been for years. Don't blame me if no one knows what you are selling or your new pyrotechnic product. Oh yea he also sold 2 of the golf ball mortars .

He had 8 when video was released, three left earlier today.

He actually saw increase in sales when I first had them on the forums and again in the teaser video. He may have sold all the aluminum ones, these new ones look like they are made of that stronger steel. These new ones will be stronger than the one I have. I am eventually getting both of these back in the field and double the powder on the Concussion Mortar. There are 2 left now, my guess he will make more and repost the ad. These are fun. Now we have to pair one up with a gasoline fire ball and do it at night. Surprisingly just using the black powder is very loud.

On of my youtube subscribers posted a comment on my video, he said we need to use those new LED golf balls. You hear that Scott, I need to get some of those balls and we need to go back to that property and night. LOL

I followed up on this and it looks he relisted both of these mortars 3 times and sold all of them. I sure hope he is making more. Are you out there selling these Thunder Mugs? Maybe you should give me a call and sign up for pyrotalk.com. Can't wait to get my light up golf balls, we will back in the field at night.

Dane, I don't entertain my business practice with you. But for a minute I will. I'm busy trying to sign up people with new pyrotechnic products and I'm also trying to sign up the old stubborn ones. Fireworks enthusiast that follow my videos are looking for new and exciting products. From time to time I post and demonstrate the effectiveness of what I do. There are multi levels of marketing on pyrotalk, from the guy selling parachute rockets with his cell phone ( James 480-521-4684 video June 4th, 2016) to national fireworks chains and now Ebay sellers. I suspect that was not the objective of your question, but that is the answer.

Are you out there in the pyrotechnic accessory business reading the forums. Go to the start of this post and click on the Ebay links for these Thunder Mugs, follow it along and count as he keeps relisting the ads over and over. 41 of these steel mortars sold in the 30 days since I posted this video. I anticipate that number to continue to grow as the July 4th holiday approaches. I am looking to sign up fireworks accessory dealers to pyrotalk. My YouTube subscribers are looking to not only be educated on how these devices work, they want to purchase them. Send me a confidential business email for details on becoming part of pyrotalk.com. Don't wait until after July 4th.

I'm bringing this thread back in hopes of recruiting new business to my website pyrotalk.com. If you are out there in the fireworks or pyrotechnic related business using my video and this Ebay seller as an example. Clicking on eBay links I included in the video, this seller sold a total of 91 concussion and golf ball mortars in 2.5 months. For a total of $4725.00 in sales in that 2.5 month time period. My guess is he is spending most of his free time making them as fast as he can. LOL I expect that number to continue to grow for him. Here is his feedback profile.

I purchased the round Thunder Mug with the small bore, I have no desire to shoot golf balls. I just want some noise without the Type 54 license. It is killing me not being able to try it out. I like the fact that you can use Pyrodex, I have bought it for as little as $5 a pound at Walmart after Hunting Season is closed.
Has anyone purchased one of these off e bay http://www.ebay.com/itm/SIGNAL-CANNON-INERT-MORTAR-BLACK-REPORT-SALUTE-POWDER-MILITARY-LOUD-VINTAGE/222548174368?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649. The bore is bigger and would be more stable with the base. I have asked the seller questions but he has yet to get back to me.
Since I purchased the round 1 inch bore Thunder Mug I have been looking at how other people load them. Some people use bread instead of paper or tin foil. No clean up and some people say newspaper or any type of paper causes embers and fires. One guy talks about putting a cardboard wad and then some cremora on top it then the bread. Any info would be appreciated.

I am thinking about shooting mine again on Friday with two one ounce cups of black powder. That opening looks too big on the one you posted, I don't know if that means it will be better. I am going to use some packing paper that Walmart used when they shipped me something. I am not sure what the reasoning behind tin foil is? Circular cardboard wads would probably work great, if you have the energy to cut them.

Just get a gasket punch set, you can crank out the perfect sized cardboard disc with every swing of a hammer

I just got back from shooting some of the Spirit of 76 stuff. I shot this Concussion Mortar and had a close call using a fuse I did not realize was so fast. I also used some of the Brazilian black powder. I should have video up soon.

Dave is the Brazilian black powder something special. Years ago I had some Elephant brand black powder made in Brazil is it the same stuff. Since Michigan has relaxed it's rules on muzzle loading seasons and allow us to use black powder substitutes I haven't purchased Black Powder for years. I gave the last of mine to a friend for the cremora pots a few years back. He said it is almost impossible to buy black powder around the fourth of July, they question you about the use of the powder.

Could try it first with some titanium added to the bp, never loaded a salute cannon with flour. I have used a 50/50 mix air float charcoal and naphthalene. Same thing i use in lampare shells. Just gives it more flame/fire out the muzzle. Could also try ball milling the flour a bit to make the particle size smaller.

I'll be at the Fire Art shoot this Saturday, I will bring this mortar along and try some spherical titanium in the Meal D. I am figuring to then add a thin cardboard plug on top of the Meal D , then the flour on top of that.

I expected a bit of a fireball off the flour... Could try some other powders, like corn starch, confectioner sugar, or the classic non dairy creamer. Need to make or buy a thunder mug.. My table top cannons only have a half inch bore, and are not built to take too large a powder charge.

The nice thing about these mortars I am using is , they are cheap down and dirty versions. Some of those tables cannons are too pretty to be experimenting on. Next time I am try to add something to the flour. These would be a great addition to add alongside the gasoline fire balls to add the needed boom the gasoline does not make.

Yeah most of the time my table top cannons need a sand bag behind them if i even put a ball of tin foil in them... Haven't damaged any but i wouldn't try filling the bore with any thing. Seen one that was made with 4 holes in it, thinking about grabbing a block of steel next time I'm at the metal shop... And maybe some larger bits.
