Here is a show that I helped setup this week.

This is my 3rd show out of the 5 I need to obtain my Operators License in Texas.

Frank you looking good, you moving right along, that is great. Was this display a setup and teardown in one day? How many people were on the crew? Did the shells have ports for the electric match, are using the technique to place the match I demonstrated.

Yes. Where was this show? How did I not hear about it? What company put it on? Celestial displays? Must have been in San Antonio. You don't need that state cert to get your 54... I'm proof of that... there isn't any point in getting that license unless you can afford the insurance which is outrageous.... get the 54 and "wing" the rest

This was a setup and teardown in 1 day. We had 2 barges that had to be loaded and then moved to the middle of the lake. There were a total of 9 guys on the crew. The shells were 3, 4, 5, and 6 inches. The 6 inch shells were titanium salutes. All cakes, shells and finale chains had the ports for the electric match.

There were 2 shells that had to be repaired using your techniques you demonstrated. One where the lift charge cup came off and one where the quick match slipped out of the lift charge. Unfortunately they did not have Dave's Magic Tape, I had to use masking tape. I also placed the tape over the mortar tube to indicate the repaired shells. When the lead operator asked why is there tape covering the tube, I told him that those were the repaired shells and told him if the tape is gone after the show, the shells were shot.

Your videos were very helpful.

I was told that I am going to work on a New Years show and hopefully 1 more before that.

I believe I have the limit at 6 images and/or videos per post. Thanks for the pictures and that feedback. I don't believe I saw that type of mortar rack before. What is holding those electric match in position and preventing it from pulling the whole bundle when a shell lifts.

Each tube in the rack has T slot as a stress release. The e-match is wrapped around the T.

Nice setup pics Frank. Looks like you are getting your feet wet without getting off the barge! LOL! Are those open frame racks made of aluminum or steel?
