Thats cool , did you have an app for your phone to do that? I believe noise above 85 starts to become dangerous after a period of time. This is why we should all wear hearing protection when we are shooting fireworks. Particularly when shooting display product.

I did i used my iphone using Decibel 10th app (because it allows me to export the data log via email) i agree about the hearing protection. i normally have earphones with music on in when dealing with loud things i do (lawn care, shooting, and shooting ) not ideal protection but its better than nothing

I gotta say man. That was a cool video. I like that aspect. Straight from the mortar

i have clearly lost some hearing from being close to 3-6" shells in the tube popping out . the lift-charge, alone .
i won't go anywhere near 1.3 stuff now unless i'm wearing ear-plugs. it's decieving how loud / how many dB that stuff is ... even 1.4 stuff... bigger cakes...

i am going to try and get my hands on a #500 single tube (i believe the largest possible 1.4 effect) within the next mo and do the same test.

Great video. It's nice to know there's an app that makes it easier to measure the noise levels. Can't wait to see the next one
