I am fairly new to these systems as in the past I've put long timed fuses on my boards and lit them.
My question is: if I buy the 18R2 remote, does it work with other firing modules besides the 18M? I love the Remote and the software programming aspect of it, but the 18M seems too pricey for me for only 18 cues.

As far as I know the remote and modules are both needed to work together. It will not run other systems. Even if it did I would not recommend it. The next graduation step after the long fuse is electronic firing. Save up and make the move when you are ready or the next sale comes along.

I'm ready to move up and money isn't an issue, I just don't see paying almost 300 for 18 cues when the FTH-48S by firetek has 48 cues for 134 dollars

I apologize I thought you were on a different path. Right now I am advertising three high end fireworks firing systems. The Cobra, The FireTEK and the Mongoose. The selections are great and the decisions is difficult.

I'm partial to the Cobra unit. 18 cues will fire a lot of fireworks if you connect your shells with timers ie. 5 shells to a "chain" separated by 3 second timers. I am not familiar with the Monoose or FireTek systems, but Cobra is VERY dependable.

The FTH-48S that I can find online is $1499.00 not $134. If you have a better link please share it.

The one with GPS is 1499 but their own pricelist has the base wireless as 134
I included a screenshot and the pdf they sent me

I understand that I can deploy more than one firework per cue, but if I'm having to use that much extra fuse to time events, then I might as well skip the electronic firing altogether. My yearly show lasts between 30-40 mins and that is just lighting a fuse at the start and enjoying it. I wanted to get into electronic ignition to avoid the miles and miles of fuses "figuratively of course" I usually have 3 sections of boards set up so I'd need 3 modules to avoid the long fuses

If that $134 is good, you'd better jump all over it! My guess is, someone missed a "0" at the end of the 134. Either that or they mean you can get 1 slat for $134. Sounds way too good to be true to me. But if not, like I said, you need to jump all over it!

28.10 per cue comes out to 1348.80, they missed a 0 and also two 8's :p

That's a mistake. $28.10 per cue x 48 = $1348.80

$138 then I'll take 20 of them!!... I wish!!

This Saturday Aug 27 XFX Pyro is helping me shoot my sportsman club fireworks display using 18 FireTEK modules on a pyro-musical. I will have video of the setup etc. This should give people interested in the system a chance to see it set up. If you are interested in any of the FireTEK systems keep in mind XFX Pyro can supply you. They are one of my advertisers , plus they are not just selling the system they are very knowledgeable on the system. XFX Pyro is using the system in addition to selling it. I recommend if you are in United States and interested in a FireTEK you purchase from XFX Pyro. They are located near me in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area.
The plan for this video will be to show you some of the technical side of the system , as I do with most of my videos demonstrating the pyro-technician perspective. Stay tuned.
