lol true the loudness in the video did not do this justice. it was more like being like 40 feet away from 4 in salute on the ground. i know whats that is like due to i experienced it in my last years training course
I have two so I guess I have a reason to have black powder. lol

There is a nice size cannon at the sportsman club sitting in the meeting room someone donated years ago. I do not believe it was ever used. One of these days I should find time to shoot it. I would have to familiarize myself with how to do it properly. I never shot a cannon. The cannon the club has looks similar to the one you have in the middle picture.

A large cannon may sound like a 4" salute but there's no way that a handheld rifle of any kind would even approach the sound of a 4" salute 300 feet in the air much less 40 feet away. Most rifles are about as loud as an old cherry bomb.
