I am not sure if they ever reported what exactly exploded. That had to be more than fireworks.

Still investigating. Hundreds of tonnes of K and Na nitrates found AFTER explosion. Licensed to handle/store hazardous materials at the port, but violated safe distances.

Estimated yield 21 tons TNT - seen from space
Fat Man yield 21 kilotons TNT...

Licensed in such close proximity, if not right in it, a major city? Lacking some foresight I think.

this is effecting the fireworks industry. shipping has been shut down in beihei and factories are going under further inspection.

I was told that this started from a precursor to make some sort of glue, I think he said it was for Gorilla Glue. Said precursor explodes once in contact with water. I heard there was a fire at the port and the fire fighters obviously were spraying water and it came in contact with this chemical and then the KA BOOM.. I was told they were storing an illegal amount of this chemical, and there were probably also 1.3 and 1.4g fireworks within a couple hundred feet of this chemical storage which is why you see some stars falling in some of the explosions.. Sorry for my poor knowledge of the chemistry terminology needed to accurately describe what happened. I think you get the picture though..
