Has anyone used poster cardboard post tube (thin wall 2mm 2" inch tube) as mortar for a firework?
Did it withstand launch? All I want to know, as obviously the answer to a shell failing to lift off is going to ruin it.

I see you are from Australia. My guess is you can not find a place to purchase fireworks mortars. A cardboard tube used to launch fireworks has to be very thick and strong.

I know usually I craft paper up tubes for extra strength however have a cake to make in little time. I should just test fire really. For now I will settle for Duct tape reinforcing of the lower part of the tube to withstand the pressure from launching a shell.
Yeah I'm from Australia (:(?)
Can purchase mortars, just not easy to find as firework retailers do shows only. No retailing of equipment etc
