Hello again to our friend from China. I am hoping someone can answer these questions for you. I believe the “Flying Fish” effect is just a form of fuse that burns in that fashion. I know here in United States they sell “Flying Fish Fuse.

To me Exocet sounds like the generic equivalent of Percocet. LOL
Does anyone know what he is referring to when he is asking for Exocet? I have a feeling some of this is lost in translation.

This is a description of the EXOCET Air to Surface missile primarily used by aircraft against ships. Probably used here to describe the short flight duration of the "flying fish" effect.
I will see if I can find a formula for the flying fish shell insertsthat are made of very small diameter tubes with a hole in the side--similar to a "go-getter" in place of using the flying fish fuse.

At pyrojoe I am not trying to rush you to respond when I comment on this. If the formula exist to make flying fish fuse I would love to hear it. Most of what I see here in United States is we buy it already made and use it in something we are making. I do not know if a formula exist to make it from scratch.

Took a while to find it--here ya go:
Flying Fish Fuse
Ammonium Perchlorate 50%
Copper Carbonate 15 %
Aluminum 325 mesh 10 %
Saran Resin 5 %
Parlon 20%
Bind with Acetone

Mix to consistency of medium thin slurry & soak heavy cotton string with mixture drawing through a sizing card & allow to air dry.

It is like black match for quick match--so much easier for us here in the States to buy it! Unless you are a "purist builder" that wants to make everything you use just for the fun of making it, As for me, I would rather order it & use the time saved elsewhere!

Chris, Yes, I have made it. Like making black match, the trick is to get the right consistency for the slurry to adhere as you draw the string through it. Whereas visco would have an outer wrapping of threads around it to strengthen the finished product, this does not, and is prone to cracking--but it is cut into small pieces anyway, so it really doesn't matter.
Like I said earlier, it is more of a pain than what it is worth--but I wanted to try it just for the sake of doing it.
Also, the color can be adjusted by changing out the copper carbonate [as I am sure you would know].
Another thing--I tried sisal & hemp spiking string also, but found the cotton worked best for this.
