Had a question, i ordered enough mortar racks for one case of 2.5 and 3 inch shells, just wondering if i should go with 2 sets of 3 inch mortar racks instead of mixing the 2.5 and 3 inch racks? What do you think? is there enough kick and excitement to a 2.5 like a 3inch?

We are shooting more and more 2.5" each year. There are some really good 2.5s out there and the extra 40 shells in a case makes them a great buy. The biggest downfall to the 2.5s are the tubes. There just aren't that many suppliers of 2.5" mortars and finding lengths to make your own is even harder. 2.5" is a special run and you generally have to have a minimum of 2500' for them to run it. If your not concerned with the cost of the mortars, go for the 2.5s.

I agree with Thumpjunkey, 2.5" are a great value expecially when you get your hands on some quality shells. Also, when using 2.5" finale chains, you can make up for the slightly smaller break of a 2.5" compared to a 3" by shooting more shells.

I agree with thump and hokester... after watching numerous 2.5" and 3" shells this weekend at a demo.. I will be shooting mainly 2.5" from now on

ok...thanks for your imput...i will stay with that size. I got my racks through Pyrodirect which offer the 2.5 racks and he gave me really good pricing since i ordered all the rack sizes at once. Thanks Again, all you opinions mean alot since im new to this.

Not exactly on subject, but close...
AND PLEASE DON'T START THE SPACER WAR...
But do Pyro Direct's 2.5" racks have spacers? I'm pretty sure the picture shown in their flyer and on the website shows them with 12 shots and no spacers. Figured you should know if you just ordered them.
Thanks
