This is certainly horrible, but I smell a price increase coming.

Sad to hear this happen now. Good thing it only occurred to one factory. In China, factories can be right next to each other.

I know just last month there was a explosion at a China fireworks factory, the sad reality is there are more than a few per year. If you look back through history in United States when production was popular there were a few accidents. Some plants had more than one accident over the years. I believe Melrose fireworks had two major accidents over the years.

Hmm... how will this ever end?

they said right away that there was too much black powder stored too close to the fabrication area in order to save them trips to the building with the black powder .

fabrication area?
Personally speaking, I would rather pay more for fireworks, within reason, if I knew safety precautions and child labor laws were being strictly enforced. Just my thought.

fireworks are IMO already quite expensive . i'd rather not pay any more than I already do .
I do believe the factories over there are on board with Western ideas of safety and the Chinese government has their own regulations and they do inspections .
