I had the opportunity to shoot a few fireworks this weekend. Attending the celebration was Jason Tighe with Capture Media. He had his video drone with him and caught some great shots from above, below and in the middle of some Golden Swallow and Havoc. Feel free to skip through the family stuff and get right to the fireworks. Those drone shots from inside the fireworks in the air are getting more numerous; they are super cool. Nice to have a pro shoot and edit your video, for sure.

If you want to learn to fly a Phantom without risking that expensive bird, there is a guy on youtube who suggests learning on a Nano 3D which you can get for 30 or 40 bucks. He claims it flies exactly like a Phantom:

I'm getting one tomorrow, to learn on, in case I want to get a Phantom to fly inside my fireworks shows.

Ok I took the bait and just purchased one. I have to admit it does look like fun. I think the man in the video is correct, it may be best to learn on the cheap one, then if you ever get the real one at least you will have some experience. I went to the site recommended in the video and when I clicked on something a gambling screen popped up? I searched the device on eBay and this one was there. This is the one I purchased so I hope it is the same.

I got the Nano 3D today. It's tiny and can't carry a camera of ANY size. Should be a blast to learn on! $29.00 from Amazon.

My quadcopter arrived with one dead battery, dang! Amazon sending a new unit tomorrow. I wanted to practice on that thing. Oh well...
