iīm a big fan of TRīs rockets so I let to reconstruct his tool. Now I'm going dial in anything. Fuel, delay, and his effects. The one or the other rocket I've already shot.
Here are a few videos to it.

Thatīs my new tool

I have some questions. Can you use black powder coated rice hulls for lift on shells? Also, how did you prime your crossette stars?

Thank you guys :)

@ wizard

yes you can use MCRH for lifting shells ..... For priming my Crossettes, i use a mix from NC laquer and BP.

Nice work Viking! You have a Master Rocket Builder to learn from & you are doing a great job of learning & copying his techniques. Also, nice work on making your own tooling!

@VikingPyrotechnics How much black powder coated rice hulls would I need for a certain amount of weight? An ounce per pound or more since there isn't much black powder?

You have to test your MCRH. Some need more then other because it depends on the quality of your black powder....

And here is my new " TR style " rocket header. 2 rings of reports :)

Today I was finally able to get out, to ignite my rocket. Unfortunately, a "fail".
The shell was ok. (timing of blue stars, the timing of crossettes was super.) However, the motor did not work properly. I think I know what I did wrong. I have used TT as a delay. With 1cm above the spindle I have about 3 seconds delay. 3 seconds seemed a bit long for the weight of the shell. So I pressed only 7 mm and a bentonite plug. Then I drilled the hole in the plug, and came a bit into the delay. So I had probably only about 5 mm above the spindle. The lit through under the weight of the rocket, I think. On the next rocket I will use win39 again for the delay. I had not such problems with that comp.....

Where did you get the plastic cap plugs? By the way, I think this would look better if it was a mine instead of a shell with a bottom shot. My advice, if you want it a shell, add lots more delay and lift lol. If you want it a mine, forget the bottom shot salute.

Those cap plugs i did get from a friend .....

Here is a white strobe & report ring rocket

Some things to change here.... Delay of the rocket was to short. Break was a bit to hard ( blown the most of the strobe stars blind )

Ok guys,

here is my attempt on that cap plug rockets, that TR gets out so perfectly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIIeOtk2TH8

You see the point in the ring, where I have tissue paper stuffed between the cap plugs. (I had a small gap between them) with the timing I am quite satisfied, considering that I have all cut by hand :)

I would say it was good attempt. Keep up the good work.
