I see all kinds of videos on speeding up cakes, etc with quick fuse. How about firecrackers and quick fuse? I've got some 1 sec a foot, and thought about zip tying it up the middle of a 400 or 1000 cracker strip. Anyone tried it?

I once ran a piece of visco through a 40/16 brick. Used a wooden dowel that I ground a point on and shoved it through. It was interesting.

Homebrew headbomb..... I took a 200 strip and rolled it up, then wrapped the outside with quick fuse. I'm thinking with all the fuses lined up and the quick around the outside, it should burn through to the core instantly.

Nice... I will do this with ultra fast fuse on crappy clay bricks they rip pretty good I must say.

I used 1 sec ft and tried a few of these last weekend, they really go off fast and yes 'rip' through the string producing a nice intense burst.

Update, the smaller ones above worked well for testing. I believe I have created a nice 1000 cracker headbomb, though I have yet to test it, hopefully soon. I took a 1k roll and removed the outter wrapper leaving it rolled up. I took a brass poke and pushed right through the fuse thread to the center at every 90 degrees. I took 1/4 sec fuse and cut 6 in pieces, put them in the holes and and a length around it twice on top of the fuse thread. This should be interesting....

Looks like fun waiting to happen. If you slide a wooden dowel through the middle you can "stack" a couple of these. :eek:

Here's a board I put together with two of my 1k crackerbombs. The two daylight cakes on the right will go off with 12 roman candles, then the two on fire quickly, then hopefully a slight delay and the two rolls will create a bit of thunder. HEH

What did you think of those smoke cakes? I went back and bought more for next year. Awesome performers.

They are very nice cakes, but too pricey to buy retail. I'm looking to find something similar in 500 gram near me. Here's a link to my daylight show this year.
