Look at this nice rising effect by just adding the firecracker into the mortar tube

What are these exactly? Actually, I should say, how are they lit? (both ends or one side is capped, the other has a black powder motor?)

@ wizard
this are birdbangers from germany. ( Zink ) There are some birdbangers with brocade tail, green color, red and white. One end are just plugged with a plastic cap while the other end takes fire from the lift charge from that ball shell ( it realy takes fire easy )
Greets from Germany
ps:
Here you can see in my videos , how they are build ( sorry for my bad english )

I like how those are built, if you wanted to , you can remove that plastic plug and add more or different composition. Then fire these out of the bird banger, until one blows apart in the gun then the party is over. LOL

In this thread you can see another really interesting use of bird bangers: http://www.pyrotalk.com/bulletin/showthread.php?2009-ZINK-725-knallpatronen-white-brocade-and-red-(bombettes-15-mm)
This year ZINK made a new bird banger with brocade effect, it is really cool:

There are also whistle tubes:

Bonus, this video with lots of bird banger:

You can do the same with the 24mm bombettes that you can see in this video: There are many possibilities with this material, and there are so easy to use. thats why they are highly sought after by fans :-)
