This was my entertainment for the weekend. The first link is a 4" gas mine, I had 4 of these in my Labor Day show last year. The crowd loved them, after they realized that we didn't blow ourselve up. So this year I have to go bigger. The second link is a 6" gas mine being shot for the first time. The last link is a 8" gas mine being shot for the first time. I made the black powder for all of these, since it could get very expensive if I had to buy it retail. I need to play around with the powder charge for the 6" and 8", looks like some residual burn on the ground. Dave, think the gun club will allow the 8" one, ha.

Holmes69 I see you progressed nicely. Just to bring everyone up to speed, Scott took the Fireball Class at the Pyrotechnic Guild International convention in Pennsylvania, he also purchased the make your own black powder kit from Skylighter. and now we have Scott making fireballs. LOL
Holmes69 is aka Scott "Fireworks on the Farm", I think we can easily add the six inch fireball to the Sportsman Club fireworks display this year. I still have a fireball steel mortar one of my video subscribers gave me I need to break in this year.
Here is some of the video again for those that missed it.

Here we go with a 8 inch fire ball. We are going to use three of these at my sportsman club display August 23. I just released this video public on YouTube.
Cremora fireballs are out, gasoline fireballs are in now. LOL

It all depends on how much gas you want, there's no correct or wrong answer on length, another thing you need to fill full you can use taller pipe for smaller fire balls. Mine are 8" by 20" steel, here's my first test I did over memorial weekend. Used 8oz size pet bottle filled 1f powder and titanium. 5" water and about 3 gal of gas. Another option add just a cup of diesel if you want what's called dragon breath, this is awesome for daytime, thick black cloud that just hangs.
