I decided to scrap the first rack I made, I was not happy with it, but it helped in the design process, and these two I am happy with. Not only did I get the tubes from Pyroboom, I ordered a firing system from them. I can't wait to set these up with regular and quick fuse. I've been lighting up the backyard for many years with cakes and single mortars but last year we started a tradition at a buddy's place, and this year should beat anything I have ever done. Thanks Dave for creating this site and to everyone on here, you are all a wealth of information!!

Looking good. Looks like you did some precision work on those puppies.

I'm guessing the weigh 20+ pounds each. Do you think they are stable enough? Meaning will are they prone to tip over?

Thanks PGH, and thanks pyroboom, bought the tubes from you. 25.6 lbs each to be precise! HEH.... I'm thinking of using stakes on each end of them. I would have bought complete racks, but I love working with wood and my hands, and enjoy projects like this......it's been a 'blast'!

im currently 'renovating' an older pyroboom rack by replacing the tubes and re-painting the wood/rack and adding a base.
"this old mortar rack" . soon to be on PBS . :p

Now the question becomes, how to use all 40. Slow fuse the first 20, then quick fuse the last, or use a mix of fuse! DAYUM!
