View Full Version : Celebrate the end of winter in Zurich Switzerland with fireworks snow man

It looks like this is a tradition in Zurich Switzerland to celebrate the vernal equinox. It would be great if we were to add some of these traditions in United States. I will attach a link to Wikipedia that explains it in more detail. However, it would be great to hear from someone that participates in this tradition.

With the start of winter, hear in United States I thought about this tradition in Switzerland. If I read the history on this correctly they measure the time it takes for the head to explode on the snowman (Boogg ). If the time is, long it means the weather in the summer will not be good.

While watching these vids, I couldnt help but smile and have that little giggle I get when I see things burn and explode. Its like a pinata for adults but instead of stuffing it with candy, you stuff it with explosives and set it on fire!!

was in Zurich, once. at the airport, you could buy $1500 / bottle wine . Chateau Petrus & so forth .
