This gentleman is from Italy, Sergio Paolelli. I have posted another wicked intense video of his a while ago.
Here is another reason why I love the Italian style, and Sergio being my favorite pyro engineer!!
This is just PURE AWESOME!!

Well, it might be that the show in Formia will be the last thing we get to see from Paolelli - I don't know if the news have spread to you over there already but they had a terrible explosion in the factory recently with 3 people dead, one of them is one of the sons of Sergio, Valerio. I wish them all the best really, they are quite good friends, but after such a thing happening...
Do a google picture search for Pirotecnica Paolelli and you'll see what happened

Oh no...
Tagliacozzo, July 10 - A fireworks factory in Tagliacozzo near L'Aquila exploded on Wednesday with four feared dead.
Rescuers uncovered the burnt remains of two as-yet-unidentified bodies among the rubble of the more-than-a-century-old Pirotecnica Paolelli works that went up in flames on Wednesday.
Investigators said that Sergio Paolelli, son of the factory owner, did not now how many people were inside the factory at the time of the explosion.
Rescuers successfully removed three live people from the rubble but officials have reported that at least three additional people are unaccounted-for, possibly members of the Paolelli family.
Four other people were reported as injured.
Witnesses to the explosion said the ground shook like an earthquake and could be felt at least two kilometers away.

Yea, that's exactly what I'm betting on. They probably made too much flash powder and it could have been ignited setting off other places due to the report ring shells that explode in a certain blast radius. If you ever make a salute shell (this is what I'm getting told), always make small batches of the composition and store it somewhere very safe away from you in order to make the next small batch. This is where Dave's blue aluminum comes in handy. I still don't see that on the market yet. I'm hoping it does someday on Skylighter or possibly Ebay.

If I remember correctly there are a few fireworks manufacturing facilities in this area of Italy. The area is near L'Aquila Italy.

To respond on the Blue Aluminum. Last I heard the product is more of a novelty chemical. If someone knows more than me on this please comment. I heard because it can not used to make small firecrackers there is no market for it. Looking back, I knew something was up when Albert from Little Big Shot told me he has no use for it. He probably makes more domestic salutes than anyone I know. I believe he made a comment something along the lines of he needs to know when one of his salutes goes up he needs to know it is not coming back down. There is one thing for sure with German Black Aluminum flash mix, if it goes up and any little bit of spark hits it, it is going to go off.
It may have found a market in exploding targets. I know of one person that was selling Exploding Targets down south at Flea Markets using the Blue Aluminum. The little I know about exploding targets is they can use multiple types of aluminum. The only advantage for Blue Aluminum in the target application would be based on price.

Its too bad i hope at some point they can come up with a use for it seems alot safer plus it was very loud in large quantities. Im surprised just because they can't make smaller firecrackers and what not, that they would find no use for it with just larger salutes. I mean with all the Flashpowder accidents for Gods sake you think they would make blue-aluminium the main and future chemical composition for all 1.3 salutes.
