MAx load for consumer shells are 60 grams (Including the lift charge) I have tested KOD,EXCAL,Lock and Loads, Smoke and Mirrors and many other. For the most part the all have approximately between 30grams - 48grams of firework composition. What shell is a true 60 gram shell?

Well, that is the question. One would have to go through each one. Open up and weigh them out. To know for sure

The reason I pose this question is because I sick of hear about the old Excals vs KOD vs Smoke and Mirrors vs etc.... I want a true 60 gram shell! That would be something we would all talk about!

If you want a true 60 gram shell, get Type 54 license.

the whole "60 gram can" is a bit of a misnomer.
you can't even have 60 grams in a shell legally because 20 of it has to be lift.
stars + break charge cannot exceed 40 grams.
"60 gram can's" are just another way of saying "as good as they get without being illegal".
some designs are better than others, xcals have been the same for years while the rest of the industry seems to have surpassed them with innovation.
perfect example:
2009 Kiss of death shells were a great shell, then forward improved them a bit for 2010 and it was a noticeable difference.
xcals stayed the same.

Additionally, the shells named above have built such a reputation that it would be easy for manufacturers to shave off some of the quality from time to time to increase profitability. I'm not saying that has happened, but its possible.
There are so many good shells out there, the best way is to try to see them live at demos. If you cant get to a demo, the people on here are glad to give advice.

IMO the best canisters on the market are the just for professional shells by vangard/gungfu. Followed closely by black knight shells from asia pyro.

black mambas are a good shell i have been shooting for the last 5 yrs now, Excaliburs are still good i think. use both of theam. now last year i was introduced to Destroyer sells theay are better thean exc/blma. color and breaks bigger and lift is stronger more height. talk to one of the reps he said the it has a little more in it to still keep it under 1.3 but still be 1.4 it is like in that grey area???? somthing like that.black knight shells i have not seen them out here yet in wa. still will use black mambas, Excaliburs, Destroyer sells would like to get Black Knight shells and some other ones to mix things up or to put it better more varity to paint the sky.
