Hello my name is James and I am brand new here. I am from dutchess county NY and have always loved fireworks and pyrotechnics. I am still to young to try to get an ATF type 54 but, I figure that the earlier I get interested the better.

Unfortunately I am only going to be turning 17 years old this August. But I would love to join a junior pyrotechnics association or even volenteer to help cleanup or setup (while not handling pyrotechnic materials due to age) with one of my local pyrotechnic companies. Maybe legion? I cannot say I have a definite answer myself though sense it's a very hairy thing due to pyrotechnic material and age requirements.

Thanks for the reply! If I'm ever in the area I will definitely give you a call. Maybe I should call my local fireworks companies and ask what they can do to get me involved like you said maybe be a spotter or just help lug stuff around. Not to sound stupid but spwhat exactly is a spotter? My guess is maybe to help spot problems?
