Since this is the first yr I have seen and watched many different ways of using Ematch with 1.4 cakes. Now I came across these little connectors that allow the ematch in top and visco at bottom.

Has anyone used any of these. If so, do they work 100% or not as reliable

I believe Dave has a video where he demonstrates a these ports, using two different types of e-match. If I recall correctly, he found that they worked well — although the type of e-match made a difference.
Though this wasn't your question, I'll mention this anyway: you can e-match directly to visco. Cut the visco on an angle to expose more of the black powder core, and tape the visco to the e-match so that the visco goes inside the shroud, and contacts the match head directly. It can be difficult to do this with cakes that have the really thin visco, as it is harder to keep the BP core in contact with the match head. Using aluminum foil tape also helps to contain the fire. One drawback is that if you don't fire the device, it's a pain in the neck to remove the e-match — which is where these white plastic ports would come in handy.

Thanks pyromonkey. I dont like the ematch to visco on its own. Was not reliable enough for me. I prefer not to have to add quickmatch to each cake and these come in handy. I tried searching for the vid he made and couldnt find it.

Is this the one you were looking for? Uses the ematch port to tie in a second visco @ 2:00

When we do a pyro musical we pull the fuse out of the first tube open the hole up with a non-ferris awl,[example sharpened gutter spike] and carefully insert the e-match directly into the tube. We do the same for shells and yes there is a risk involved. The same thing can be said about using sissors. Enough said.

Pyroliffic I have used those ematch connectors with visco and had very good success with them. I will cut the end of the visco to open up the core to expsose the BP and they worked just fine.

The best I've been told is to do it carefully! Try it!
