1.4 cake at 983.5 Grams

In some countries, 1.4 fireworks can be up to 1000 Grams. Here in United States they can only be 500 Grams. This is a video of a 1.4 cake that is 983.5 Grams. We have to fire two cakes together to get this same effect. Occasionally you will see some of these types of cakes make their way into United States with the 1.4 classification.

I wonder if european 1.4 is limited to smaller bore, than USA. I see lots of these type of cakes, but not 62+mm stuff?

I also notice that they don't have the tube spacing like the 500g here require.

Are you referencing the size of the mortars on each cake?

There distance between every tube like this allot of the times.
In my country the max is also 500grams per cake.
So something new has come on the market 4x 500grams cakes so you can have 2000grams.
You just connect the fuses and its sold as ´spare fuse´, because you are not allowed to connect cakes.

But i donno the rules for poland, because sometimes we got polish cakes here.
Pretty sure their 1.3 doh and not 1.4 but they way 100kg and such.

In holland the max is 25grams per tube, 50grams for mine.
Other country´s go bigger since the uk has 100mm for mine.

Yes, in USA 9-12shot 500gm cakes regularly have 44mm (1.75") ID tubes. With 57m (2.25")being the max

That's a very nice cake. And Jamie just answer the question. But they are busy for making one law for whole the European Union. But if that is ready we life in 2017 en who knows what then :)

That makes sense on why all the items have smaller tubes. USA consumer fireworks are limited to a max of 2.25" (57mm) diameter and 60gm total composition,per tube/device

in England the tube diameter is limited to a certain bore but yeah, they're allowed more "N.E.C." net explosive content in their cakes than we are in the usa.
