Legalize all 1.4G fireworks petition...

Im not sure if this is really legit or not, but I got it from a facebook page of a fireworks wholesaler..

All 1.4g fireworks are already legal at the Federal level. It's a state-by-state issue otherwise.

This is probably someone who is frustrated by his local/state laws. The White house instituted a policy where if you can get X number of petitioners to sign a petition they will respond to it. (The Piers Morgan deportation petition comes to mind.) Just a publicity gimmick and for the folks actually buying into it, an "Exercise in Futility". Nothing is ever going to happen. Have to agree with Matandch about 1.4 fireworks legality being a state issue, and more effort should be put into "lobbying" your state officials to change the pyro laws

the creator of the petition is from PA - he just probably can't get a permit issued and fed up with the deal.
1.4 is not a federal jurisdiction - but left up to each individual state. and then from there it is then left up to the county or local levels.
This guy is not correct in some of his stats either - he says that there is 6 states that nothing is legal. That is not tru - it is 4 states - NY, NJ, Mass, and Del.
