I have to make 6 or 7 cake boards for the 4th, I learned not to tape the fuses way in advance because over time the adhesive gets gooy and seeps into the fuse. But now I'm wondering about the liquid nails. I want to glue all my cakes down this weekend but I'm not shure if the liquid nails will do something to the clay plugs or tubes over a months time. I was wondering If anyone has had a bad experiance with this or not.

I've never tried liquid nails... But, I've had good luck with those plastic zip-ties. The only thing I don't like is that leave those little bits of plastic all over the place to clean up after you're done (especially if you're fusing a lot of things together). Here's a small board I put together at DoIt last year: http://imgur.com/gmciW. I may try something similar with string next time, since that won't leave quite so much debris behind.

Oh I was refering to the liquid nails used to hold the cakes in place. I see you have them ducktaped down, gives me something to consider.

Yeah, that was also something new for me. Was surprised at how well it worked. Made it easier to reclaim the wood, afterwards.

Liquid nails won't effect your clay plugs.

Florida is right about liquid nails. About the tape, get some aluminum hvac tape, I get mine at wally world for like 6 bucks a roll. I've fused things with that tape that have sat for more than 2 months and all worked just fine.

I use a hot glue gun to glue my cakes to a board and then use Dave's clove hitch knot, he has a video for it . This knot works great for tying fuses together!!!!
